House of the Dragon showrunner teases "new dragons" in "a very worthy" final season of the hit HBO show
House of the Dragon showrunner Ryan Condal says season 4 is going to be the best and biggest one yet... and we're waiting with bated breath after the season 3 finale.
Warning: Spoilers for House of the Dragon season 3 episode 8 below! milkshakeslot.com
"We have an incredible season coming," Condal says during a press conference attended by GamesRadar+. "As crazy and big as season 3 was, I think Season 4 is going to be even bigger. It's a great privilege to be able to tell a story, and to be able to control and write the ending, and to control when and where that happens. This is not a given in making television, certainly. We're very excited to get back in. We have new characters, and new dragons and new locations all to come, that I think are gonna make it a very worthy final season. And I'm looking forward to doing it with one of my favorite people in the world, Emma D’Arcy."
House of the Dragon season 3 saw Rhaenyra slowly descend into power-hungry madness as she put on the crown and dared to stop anyone in her path who opposed. In the finale, Rhaenyra goes as far as to order the death of the High Septon, as he refused to anoint her as the true ruler of the Seven Kingdoms. Why? Because Aegon is still alive, and if that's not a "sign from the gods," then I don't know what is.
House of the Dragon season 4 will likely take us all the way to the end of the Dance of Dragons, the tumultuous civil war between Team Black and Team Green. I won't tell you what happens to Rhae in the books but, well, it's Game of Thrones. So, naturally, we can expect a largely unhappy ending for every single character (even the dragons).
House of the Dragon season 3 is streaming now on HBO Max and NOW. Make sure you don't miss the season 3 finale with our House of the Dragon season 3 release.
Nästa The Blood of Dawnwalker-spel kan bli ett science fiction-äventyr
"What I'm really excited about is the concept of a saga. In the video game world we have a lot of games with sequels, but they don't necessarily create an overarching plotline. So you have a game, it's a great game, and then there's another great game that follows, and there are some common elements, but they don't... adapt to lead to some overarching conclusions.
I mean, it did happen in the past, of course, but it's not that often these days that we see it. And I love the idea of seeing how Coen changes as a character as he gains experience, as he goes around the world and learns more about the hidden forces at play. I love the idea of taking him through different places and also kind of seeing how much of him will stay universal and how much of his character will change, and also gathering players' choices along the line and using them to then create unique branchings and further titles to reward players who have stuck to the series from the very start.
So there's a lot that we are hopeful to do there and to truly shape the series into something that feels like an epic series of novels that aren't bound by genre definitions. Dark fantasy is great and that's what Dawnwalker 1 is, but in the future we might explore other areas. With our creative interests at heart, we want to do things that excite us, that are fresh and get us going, but also in the interests of players. We want to keep surprising them and offering them the best experience we can possibly create."
